The NFL betting market loves reputation. Big brands get taxed, hot starts get overvalued, and public teams can carry numbers they have not fully earned.
That is where Week 4 gets interesting. This board has a few short favorites worth backing, a live home dog catching too many points, and one ugly double-digit favorite that the data says we cannot ignore.
The top play is Jacksonville +2.5 at Cincinnati. The Jaguars have quietly built one of the stronger recent ATS profiles in the league, and this number feels like it is giving too much respect to Cincinnati at home. If the line says Bengals, but the matchup feels closer to a coin flip, we will gladly take the points.
Next is San Francisco -3 against Denver. The 49ers are unbeaten, winning with margin, and still only laying a field goal at home. Denver has found ways to win, but the underlying profile is not nearly as convincing. This is not about chasing a logo. It is about backing the better current team at a clean number.
The third play is Chicago -3.5 against the Jets. Trusting the Bears is never completely comfortable, but Chicago has earned more respect against the number lately than the market usually gives them. The Jets have been more competitive early this season, so this is not an automatic fade. Still, at home, with the better setup, the Bears stay on the card.
Fourth, we are taking Las Vegas +4.5 against Kansas City. The Chiefs are still the Chiefs, but that is exactly the problem. Bettors pay a tax to back Kansas City, and over the last few seasons, that tax has not been friendly. The Raiders are unbeaten, at home, catching more than a field goal, and live enough to make this number uncomfortable for anyone laying it.
Finally, the scary one: Minnesota -10 against Miami. Double-digit NFL favorites are not for the faint of heart, but Miami has not earned trust, and the Dolphins have opened 2026 looking like a team the market may still be pricing too kindly. Minnesota has the better current form, the better recent ATS profile, and enough separation to justify the big number.
ICBW Sports Week 4 ATS Card:
Jaguars +2.5
49ers -3
Bears -3.5
Raiders +4.5
Vikings -10
At the time of publication, the five-leg parlay price on DraftKings was +2679.
Week 4 is about finding wrong numbers, not popular teams. The books are daring bettors to trust reputation. We are betting the data says otherwise.
